Introduce yourself in the first paragraph. Why are you in art class? What are your
goals for yourself in art class?
Hello! My name is Tori Abernathy. I am in art class because I been trying to get into one ever since 6th grade. Not only that, but I also have an immense passion for art. I'm hoping to learn the different techniques there are in the big world of art and to hopefully succeed in trying them out.
In the second paragraph discuss the skills and techniques
you have learned. What are your current
goals for working with techniques and skills?
I have learned the different techniques you can use to create value so far in foundations. There's hatching, shading, cross hatching, scumbling, and my favorite, pointillism.
In the third paragraph discuss your most successful project
this year. Why is it successful? What are you proud of? What challenges did you overcome in making
the project? What did you learn from the process? Will it influence future works of art?
So far this year my most successful project would have to be my pointillism elephant. I've devoted so much time and hand cramping trying to get each individual dot to be put in the perfect stop. In the future I hope that we can work on more challenging pointillism projects.
Discuss your most successful project second semester. Why is it successful? What are you proud of? What challenges did you overcome in making
the project? What did you learn from the process? Will it influence future works of art?
My most successful project in second semester would have to be my fruit painting. I have never tried to paint realism with acrylic paint so I was very surprised of how well it turned out! I was challenged with trying to make my painting look like the picture. I found it difficult to try and mix colors together to get the same color on the photo. I learned that it's okay to tweak a little bit here and there on your project.
Have you met your learning goal(s) for the year? What have you learned/accomplished this year
in your art class? How have you grown as an artist?
I learned that acrylics can be a little bit difficult to work with, especially if you get it on your clothes! I have grown in art class because my knowledge of different ways to make art has expanded. I hope my senior year I get to learn even more.
